January Free Herbal Health Clinic and Winter Schedule updates

Happy New Year Friends,
Here we are, at the beginning of another year.  This year we’re moving into a new era at Wonderment Gardens.  First, we are staying home this winter and making ourselves available at the Center.  It is the first time in several years that we’ve stayed in South Dakota and I have to tell you I’m really excited.  I love all the seasons, including the winter snow and cold.
Being home gives us the opportunity to work with our friends and neighbors.  We will be offering Monthly Free Herbal Health Clinics beginning January 21st.  Everyone deserves the health care of their choice.  Herbs and Yoga have always been my first choice.  They are self empowering, using the tools and resources God put on this earth.  Not to mention they are often more effective than modern western medicine.
This springs we’ll be offering 2 of classes.

  • Family Herbal Basics – For those who’d like to grow and identify healing plants in this bio-region primarily for the purpose of providing plant medicine to their families.
  • Herbal medicine basics – For those who would like a solid foundation in herbal medicine.  This will be the pre-requisite class for more in-depth classes to come

I’m still planning the classes.  If you’re interested and have a preference of class times, night classes verses weekend workshops etc.  Give me a call or drop me a line.  I would love to hear your ideas.
Thank you and hope to talk to you soon

We want to make herbal medicine and holistic healing available to everyone, whatever your circumstances or state of health.  This is your opportunity to talk with a trained herbalist, share any health concerns you may have, and receive personalized education in the preparation and use of herbs.  Education, assessment and suggestions may include individually formulated herbal preparations, diet and lifestyle changes, supplementation and more.  Our intent is to serve and support.  To share information, supplies and herbal medicine.  To listen, and offer counsel free of judgment. We believe that each individual is an expert in their own body, and we serve to empower people to take charge of their own health.
During this clinic, we are offering short, focused mini-consultations estimated to run approximately 15 minutes each, plus 5-10 minutes for preparation of herbs.  We are accepting individual Pre-appointment times and encouraging folks to drop-in on a first come, first served basis.Click here for more

Free Community Workshop: Holistic Strategies for Pain Relief

Yoga, Herbal Medicine and Essential Oils for the relief of Chronic and Acute Pain

With Annie Jones, Yoga Therapist and Clinical Herbalist and Rajni Lerman, doTerra Wellness Advocate

When – Saturday January 16, 2016 From 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Where – Bluebird Mesa, Hot Springs, SD

  • 1:00 – 2:30 – Yoga for Pain Relief
  • 2:45 – 3:15 – Aromatherapy, An introduction to Essential Oils and their uses
  • 3:30 – 4:00 – Herbal Strategies for the Relief of Chronic and Acute Pain

Living with pain is a humbling experience. Chronic or acute pain changes our lives, limiting our ability to live a full, happy and healthy lifestyle. Yoga, Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy are each scientifically proven to help.

More than a set of physical postures, Yoga is a comprehensive mind-body system whose tools address every aspect of the pain response. Participants will experience how these tools such as simple, gentle movement, breath and relaxation techniques combine to create a healing change. By helping you transform chronic pain and stress responses into healing responses of mind and body, yoga will do more than reduce your suffering of chronic pain. It will give you greater strength, courage, and joy in all areas of your life.

Aromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. The inhaled aroma from these “essential” oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. We will examine a few oils that are particularly useful to some common ailments and ways they can be used to manage pain.

Herbs have been used since the beginning of time to return us to health. Many herbs are useful for the relief of pain. We will talk about individual herbs, preparations, dosages and delivery systems that can be used alone or in harmony with other strategies for the relief or chronic and acute pain.

This mini-workshop is appropriate for anyone who is interested in relieving pain with holistic tools and natural remedies and is especially useful for those who suffer with chronic or acute pain.

Introduction to Vedic Chanting?

Vedic Chanting is the chanting in Sanskrit of mantras and passages from the Veda-s and Upanishads. It is a particular form of chanting, which has been preserved virtually unchanged through thousands of years, by adherence to the form (the rules) and direct transmission from teacher to student. It is a wonderful and profound practice that connects us in a direct way to our innermost selves. Sanskrit is an amazing language, rich with layers of meaning. Every sound has significance; just listening to the sounds can produce beneficial effects. The experience of Vedic chanting makes it is easy to see why it has been considered such a powerful and sacred practice for millennia.
