Arctostaphylos uva-ursi Uva Ursi Fresh Leaves 1:5 50% Most often thought of as a urinary antiseptic and anti-microbial for the treatment of acute urinary infections such as urethritis, cystitis and renal insufficiency. Some say it works best when the issue is resulting from fruit or sugar binging with low protein and high fats. Useful when treating diabetic pyelonephritis (acute kidney infection). Lowers the risk of urinary stones and kidney infection. A good general astringent both internally and externally. Useful in the treatment of MRSA, hemorrhoids, diaper rash, herpes sores and other inflamed tissue. Excellent for use as an astringent wash and sitz bath. Pelvic tonic indicated for pelvic pain that is cramping, heavy and dragging. Do not use in Pregnancy (placental vasoconstrictor restricting blood flow to fetus), anticoagulants. It can induce a salicylate reaction on rare occasions. For short term use. 3-4 days as tannins can cause irritation in tissues.

Betula Lenta Birch bark and leaves 1:4 80% Externally increases circulation, decreases inflammation and speeds healing of connective tissue. Good for sprains and stains. Internally detoxifies through urinary, lymph and skin. Useful in UTI formula, Eczema, acne, Edema and inflammation around joints, Osteo arthritis, Gastric dyspepsia, Fever, Lymphedema, kidney stones. Generally safe in pregnancy (in moderation) Essential oil of Birch is considered toxic. It contains Methyl Salicylate which is lethal at a dose of 10 ml (2 tsp). Cardyuus benedictus old name is Cnicus benedictus Blessed Thistle areal portion although all parts can be used 1:2 45 – 50% Decongest liver in cases of jaundice, painful digestion, poor appetite, abdominal bloating, indigestion, nauseous headaches. Relieves water congestion, especially useful for edema (water retention and bloating) below the waist. Promotes lactation, improves vision. Caulophyllum thalictroides Blue Cohosh root 1:5 40-45% Nervine, Uterine tonic, Emmenagogue, anti-spasmodic, Anti-inflammatory, Diuretic, Diaphoretic, Expectorant, oxytocic, uterine decongestant. Tones the uterus, useful with Varicose veins, assists with Afterbirth pains and Placenta delivery. Most used with uterine problems where either congestion or loss of tone is involved in the problem. Often combined with motherwort. Do not use before baby is born. Is connected to cardiovascular disease in newborn, no with kidney disease. To much causes headaches and gastro digestive upset. Chamealirium luteum False Unicorn whole flowering plant 1:5 50% Use only as a potentiator in formula and when issue is severe. Endangered species. Increases estrogen and helps raise HCG Levels (pregnancy hormone). Useful as a pelvic, uterine and general reproductive tonic. When there is a history of or threatens miscarriage, heaviness in the abdomen, a sensation of heaviness in the pelvis, low back pain that radiates down the legs, irritability, and snappy with melancholy. explosive menstrual cramps, organ prolapses, varicose veins, and hemorrhoids. Restores fertility, harmonizes menstruation and raises progesterone levels. For men consider for BPH when they feel “like they are sitting on a ball” for ED and to increase sex drive. ENDANGERED. Chelidonium majus Celandine Whole plant 1:5 45% dry herb Decongestant for the liver in cases of jaundice, hepatitis, gall stones and dyspepsia due to fatty meals and foods (related to gall bladder). May be helpful with Angina and coronary deficiency, Helps with the elimination of excess uric acid and toxic water build up as in gout and arthritis (notice headaches and skin rashes along with arthritis). Wound healing (external) sprains and strains, non-healing ulcers, eye inflammation, hemorrhoids, and warts. Pregnancy. For short term used (3 wk. max) only with = time off
Commuphora myrrha Myrrh gum 1:5 95% 5-30 drops 3x/day Works well on gum problems and stimulation of white blood cell proliferation. Useful for gingivitis, receding gums, w/ accompanied puffiness and episodes of gum inflammation. Use myrrh is to stimulate white blood cell proliferation, chronic fatigue syndrome or a slow retro-virus, HIV, Epstein-Bar, inflamed lymph nodes, tiredness, and deficient number of white blood cells. Increases flow of gastric juices, useful for chronic catarrh, tuberculosis, and anemia. Helps lower cholesterol. Do not use if pregnant. Do not use with excessive uterine bleeding. Do not use in high doses with evidence with evidence of kidney disease or stomach pain. Best used as 5% or less of a comprehensive formula with other herbs.

Diosorea villosa Wild Yam Root 1:2 60% Cortisone like action primarily used for cramps, spasms and pain relief of the smooth muscle. Useful for cramps, spasms, and colic like pain of the digestive, reproductive, urinary and muscular system. Specifically indicated for urinary spasms with nausea and a boring pain radiating from the belly button, pain that is alleviated with pressure. Pain or cramping of the uterus, abdominal, and gall bladder. Spasms in the heart, stomach, bile duct, colic in babies, flatulence with dysentery and cramps, arthritic and rheumatic pain, menstrual pain, birth and labor pains, leg cramps and miscarriage prevention. Best results are with pain that is due to over stimulation or over excitement, rather than atony. Yellow color to tongue, eyes and/or skin an indication.
