Living with pain is a humbling experience. Chronic or acute pain changes our lives, limiting our ability to live a full, happy and healthy lifestyle. Yoga, Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy are each scientifically proven to help.
More than a set of physical postures, Yoga is a comprehensive mind-body system whose tools address every aspect of the pain response. Participants will experience how these tools such as simple, gentle movement, breath and relaxation techniques combine to create a healing change. By helping you transform chronic pain and stress responses into healing responses of mind and body, yoga will do more than reduce your suffering of chronic pain. It will give you greater strength, courage, and joy in all areas of your life.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. The inhaled aroma from these “essential” oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. We will examine a few oils that are particularly useful to some common ailments and ways they can be used to manage pain.
Herbs have been used since the beginning of time to return us to health. Many herbs are useful for the relief of pain. We will talk about individual herbs, preparations, dosages and delivery systems that can be used alone or in harmony with other strategies for the relief or chronic and acute pain.
This mini-workshop is appropriate for anyone who is interested in relieving pain with holistic tools and natural remedies and is especially useful for those who suffer with chronic or acute pain.
